Simon Says: Anything Goes

Hello!  Today I'm going to share two cards I made for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  This week's challenge is "Anything Goes"...so I decided to go with a Fall theme.

For the first card, I used an impression plate for the background, and then blended some Distress Oxide inks onto a die cut circle (partially altered) to create the sunrise.  The scarecrow and  "Happy Harvest" are all from Wplus9.

Stamps:  Wplus9 (Happy Harvest)
Die Cuts:  Wplus9 (Happy Harvest)
Etc:  Papertrey Ink Impression Plate (Linen & Canvas)

The next card was made with the stamp and die set, "Hello Pumpkin" from Neat & Tangled's  STAMPtember limited edition set from Simon Says Stamp! - I used this set for the last card I posted, and honestly, I find myself wanting to use this all the time...it's soooo cute!

CAS(E) this Sketch #245

Oh my gosh! - the last "CAS(E) this Sketch" I did was #6!  Where did the time go?!
Today's card is for "CAS(E) this Sketch #245".

I created the background by blending a few Distress Oxide inks, used die cuts for the circles, and really, really cute stamps (and coordinating dies) from Neat & Tangled's limited edition STAMPtember's "Hello Pumpkin" set from Simon Says Stamp!.  This is my first set from Neat & Tangled and I'm in love.

Stamps:  Neat & Tangled (Hello Pumpkin)
Die Cuts:  Neat & Tangled (Hello Pumpkin), Spellbinders (Standard Circles Large)

Using Non-Holiday Stamps for a Holiday Card

Hello there!  I have one last homework assignment to share from Online Card Classes - Merry Making.  This one is for Day 3, which was focused on using non-holiday stamps on holiday cards.

I made the wreath by using gold ink and stamping leaves in a circular shape.  I had a hard time finding a red ink that was vibrant enough for the black cardstock, so I made my own glossy rose gold cardstock to die cut the flowers from. Add some embellishments, a banner, and voila - I've got myself a holiday card!

Stamps:  Wplus9 (Fresh Cut Florals), Papertrey Ink (Stylish Sentiments: Holiday)
Die Cuts:  Wplus9 (Fresh Cut Florals), Simon Says Stamps! (Folded Banner)
Embellishments: Pretty Pink Posh

Snowmen Season's Greetings

Hi!  Today I'm sharing my homework from Day 5 of Online Card Classes - Merry Making.  Day 5 was focused on Holiday Watercolor, and after several failed attempts (the vision in my head just didn't translate well on paper 😕), I ended up using Distress Oxide inks to watercolor with and practiced my masking skills with post-its...oh well, I'll keep working on the other technique - at least I'm having fun trying.

Stamps:  Paper Smooches (Swanky Snowdudes)

Hugs and Snuggles

Hello!  Today I'm sharing a modified technique of Shari Carroll's Paint Resist technique shared on Day 2 of Online Card Classes - Merry Making.  I didn't have any paint on hand, so I improvised by selectively white embossing white cardstock, then smearing the paper first over water down Peacock Feather Distress Oxide ink, and then lightly over Twisted Citron.  I've used Distress Oxide over an embossed image before, but not like this.  I'm definitely going to try this again, I liked how the embossed print added a subtle effect to the background.

Stamps:  Mama Elephant (Me and My Yeti, Sentiments From a Yeti), Papertrey Ink (Background Basics: Christmas Joy)
Die Cuts:  Mama Elephant (Me and My Yeti, Sentiments From a Yeti)
